Patch 0.5 quietly pushed jewels into the spotlight, and a lot of players are only just catching on. While everyone's still chasing better weapons, a properly crafted jewel can feel like cheating. If you're comparing high-end POE 2 Items for your next upgrade, these six-mod jewels deserve a serious look because they can add crit damage, crit chance, attack speed, and extra damage in one tiny slot.

The big appeal is simple: you're stacking several offensive stats that most builds already want. A strong jewel can carry three valuable suffixes, two useful prefixes, and an increased effect modifier on top. That means things like 36% critical strike damage, 27% critical strike chance, 5% attack speed, and extra attack or elemental damage can all sit together. For crit-based attack builds, that's huge. For spell builds, it can still be worth a fortune if the right crit or damage rolls line up.

Most crafters start with an Emerald Jewel or Sapphire Jewel. The dream base has fractured critical strike damage, ideally a 20% roll. You can buy one, which is usually the cleaner route, or try to fracture it yourself. Self-fracturing can work, but it's not something you should do with your last bit of currency. The chance is rough, around one in four, so you can burn through resources fast. Once that fractured crit damage is locked in, the rest of the craft starts to make sense.

From there, players usually spam Chaos Orbs until they land another suffix worth keeping. Critical strike chance is the common target, though attack speed or a build-specific suffix can be just as good. After that, two Exalted Orbs are used to fill the jewel out to four mods. The prefixes don't matter much yet. Then comes Potent Liquid Contempt, which is where things get tense. If it adds the extra suffix cleanly, you're moving forward. If it adds the wrong thing or ruins your key suffix, you're back at the Chaos stage.

The real reason this method is so strong is the way the modifier limit behaves once the jewel has more suffixes than it normally should. After you've set up three premium suffixes and two prefixes, Chaos Orbs stop being scary in the usual way. They can only affect the open prefix space, so your valuable suffixes stay put. That lets you roll again and again for a prefix like increased attack damage, elemental damage, or damage against rare and unique enemies. It's not free, of course, but it's far safer than normal jewel crafting.

This isn't a budget craft. A fractured base may cost 1 or 2 Divines, and the full process can easily land around 50 to 80 Divines if your luck is average. The Omen steps and the increased effect gamble are the painful parts. Still, the payoff is real. If you're pushing bosses, farming harder content, or squeezing more damage from an already polished build, these jewels can be worth it.
